By Brenna Goldman ‘27 The GOA middle school musical “Children of Eden” hits the stage in May, thanks to the entire cast and crew working hard to be stage-ready. This production with “Children of Eden,” is Mr. Yeshion’s directing debut at GOA, where he has created a fun environment for rehearsals and cast cohesion.
“I love being a part of ‘Children of Eden’ because spending time with the cast is so much fun,” said seventh grader Mia Biloon. In addition to the cast and crew, Broadway veteran Bill Nolte is making a special appearance in the show. Nolte has previously been featured in eleven Broadway shows, including Waitress, Cats and The Producers, and the cast is extremely excited to be working side-by-side with a professional actor. Nolte has brought musical theater tips and unique experience to the middle school production. “It has felt like a great accomplishment, and lots of fun, to do the show with my friends,” said eighth grader Caleb Lebeau. “Children of Eden” is mostly singing, and the cast has been hard at work practicing songs and harmonies with Ms. Lynch, the show’s musical director. Stage crew has also been hard at work under the leadership of stage managers Vered Shapiro, Liora Goldberg, Reese Silberfein and Max Lefkowitz. “Working with the cast and crew of ‘Children of Eden’ has been a really fun experience and is an amazing process,” said Shapiro.
