Zendaya and Tom Holland Engaged

By Hannah Talpins ‘26Famous actress and singer Zendaya has recently hinted at her engagement to renowned American actor Tom Holland, marking a significant milestone in their 3-year relationship. While the couple is known for keeping their relationship private, they have sparked excitement among their fan base with Zendaya's recent appearance at the Golden Globes, wearing a huge diamond ring. 

These actors have become one of Hollywood’s most adored couples. Amber Fulop, an 11th grade student, exclaims they are the cutest couple and she is so happy for them. Zendaya started her career early, as a child model for Disney, similar to Tom who starred as Billy Elliot in London’s West End at the mere age of 12. Their starting careers led the couple to cross paths on the set of the Spider-Man Homecoming Movie in 2017, where they played love interests. Though they originally were just friends, as sequels for the movies progressed they were spotted kissing in a car in July 2021. A few months later, they made their relationship official on Instagram, with Holland posting Zendaya for her 25th birthday calling her, “my MJ.” 
 Since then, the couple has chosen to keep their relationship more personal and private, despite their large fan base. Tom recently revealed how the couple purposely avoids joint red carpets because “If we go together, it [becomes] about us.” Both Tom and Zendaya choose to separate their work and private life. 
However, in Zendaya’s recent appearance on the Golden Globes carpet, she caught attention wearing a 5.02-carat East-west Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring from famous jeweler Jessica McCormack. After more research, the ring supposedly retails for $100,000-500,000 USD. While neither of them has directly confirmed their engagement, Zendaya has given undeniable implications. During the Golden Globes, Amy Kaufman, a Times columnist, asked Zendaya if she was engaged; Zendaya responded by flashing her ring and smiling. 
The engagement happened over the New Year’s holidays in a cozy, private, and romantic setting while the couple was at  Zendaya’s close family’s home. While specific details are unknown, the couple clearly wishes to keep their proposal sentimental and intimate. They have announced that they are in no rush to plan the wedding but rather wish to focus on their current work projects in the studio. 
Zendaya's and Tom’s fans are eager for updates but respect the couple’s wish for privacy. This engagement marks a new beginning for Zendaya’s and Tom’s inspiring love story. Fans are extremely excited for what’s to come, giving their full support on and off the screen.
