Golda Och Academy hosted its eighth annual Grandparents and Grandfriends Day this spring. During the day, students were treated to lunch and dessert with their grandparents or grandfriends in the gym and were able to take special family photos. Golda Och Academy’s delegates in the New Jersey Model Congress prepared heavily for this year’s spring conference. Among the bill targets for the conference are two bills by GOA students. By Hannah Weisz ‘24
Earlier this semester, GOA’s Climate Activism Club participated in a series of training sessions with other chapters (called kvutzot) of the Jewish Youth Climate Movement (JYCM), as part of a national Climate Activism Series. At these training sessions, members learned about the science and policy of climate change, its intersection with social justice and the basics of safe, effective activism. By Gracie Sacks ‘26
Last month, Golda Och Academy competed in the 23rd annual Jewish Canadian Model United Nations (JCYMUN) conference. Golda Och took home awards in three out of seven committees. Mimi Lebeau and Shayne Cytrynbaum both earned Outstanding Delegate on the Security Council and Crisis Committee, respectively, while Rachel Nadelmann earned an Honorable Mention in the UNWomen Committee. |
