GOA Climate Activism Club Shares Big Plans

GOA’s Climate Activism Club is up and running again, with big plans for this year. 
While the club spent most of last year working with GOA to divest from fossil fuels and eventually use ESG investing, this year, they are pivoting to work with the Jewish Youth Climate Movement (JYCM).

Spotted Lanternfly Invades East Coast

    A new invasive species is spreading across the United States: the spotted lanternfly.
Native to China and first discovered in Pennsylvania in 2014, the lanternfly likely traveled to America via human cargo networks. Since its initial discovery, it has spread to many other East Coast states, including New Jersey.

Enormous floods hit Pakistan this summer, made especially severe due to the impacts of climate change in the region, resulting in an ongoing humanitarian crisis. At the peak of the flooding, one third of Pakistan was underwater, leaving more than 1,300 dead and 100,000 displaced.
