Student Claims CNN is Better Than Alternatives

In the modern age of social media and misinformation online it is challenging to find an unbiased and accurate media source. CNN is a reliable and informed news network that provides detailed stories and news. With almost 1 million viewers tuning in from all over the world, CNN is in the top three highest-rated news channels and is dedicated to upholding journalistic standards and maintaining its status as a reliable source.

CNN provides a range of viewpoints on significant news to provide viewers with a comprehensive understanding of important issues. For example, on the Israeli-Palestine conflict, CNN publishes articles on both viewpoints. The conflict is highly divisive and focusing on facts, not opinions, is crucial for viewers to gain full knowledge. 
When asked if having both viewpoints made CNN more of a credible source, sophomore Isaac Jacobs said, “It is definitely more credible because it feels like the news isn’t geared to a certain group of people or political party. It's for everybody.” 
“Personally, I enjoy watching news that I know for a fact will give me precise, unbiased information. When I watch FOX or other news channels, I do not have that feeling of security,” Isaac said.
    CNN is known for presenting cold, hard facts instead of opinionated pieces. Their accurate information comes from an extensive editorial fact-checking process with 37 editorial operations worldwide. There is a whole team of fact-checkers to ensure this look. CNN also admits and corrects errors when they do make mistakes. A news source committed to excluding opinion is vital as it bars Americans from misinformation and corrects inaccuracies from other news sources. 
    Diverse viewpoints are also an integral part of CNN. Having multiple viewpoints on a situation is very helpful so journalists do not withhold facts to play one side in a better light. For global events where many people often consider only one side, CNN offers news from differing points of view. 
 In this day and age, accurate information is critical as many comments can be twisted in different, sometimes harmful ways. CNN is aware of this obstacle and makes conscious efforts to prevent fake news, especially when it is detrimental to an individual or group. 
    CNN also brings in knowledgeable outside sources for interviews. Whether it comes to climate crises or active war zones, you will always see a reporter on the scene. Viewers can always rely on CNN for breaking news. They have live updates and reports within minutes, providing viewers with up-to-date information on global events. 
    CNN is one of the only news sources committed to stopping the spread of misinformation in the media, ensuring that viewers are quickly provided with unbiased news. Many people have their own strict preferences on what news channels, however, I encourage you to consider CNN for impartial, objective reporting.
