Professional Sports Not Immune from Antisemitism

    In July, Desean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles posted on his Instagram story falsely attributing a quote to Hitler insulting Jews in America. 
     Jews “will blackmail America,” Jackson wrote.  “[They] will extort America, their plan for world domination won’t work if the Negroes know who they are. The white citizens of America will be terrified to know that all this time they’ve been mistreating and discriminating and lynching the Children of Israel.”

COVID-19’s Effect on GOA’s Fall Sports

    Just as COVID-19 has affected the lives of all students, it particularly has an impact on Golda Och athletes. In order to minimize dangerous contact, all of GOA’s fall sports teams had an intramural season, meaning they did not play other teams, but had practices mainly consisting of scrimmages. As the fall season comes to a close, the GOA community has a chance to reflect and evaluate the value of these intramural teams during such a trying time.

    The Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions are two Big Ten football teams who historically have been powerhouses. As recently as last season, they had a combined record of 20-6. However, at press time their combined record is nowhere near that past success.

Who Has the Best Chance to Win the NBA Title?

    With the start of the 2020-21 National Basketball Association season right around the corner, it is still uncertain as to who holds the best odds to win the championship. 
    According to MGM Resorts Sports Betting, the Los Angeles Lakers have the best odds to win followed by the L.A. Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets. After a championship victory over the Miami Heat, the Lakers demonstrated their capability to work together and win games under pressure.
