For GOA’s winter 2020-2021 theater production, student actors had to make many changes to adapt their performances for COVID-19 restrictions. An inter-school performance of Don Zolidis’ “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon: Stay-at-Home Edition” was filmed on Zoom calls and phones to be edited rather than performed live like every year before.
“Working on the play this year was a great experience. It was pretty hard, especially because the connections made between actors during their performances were not being produced,” sophomore Sophie Fischer said. “But I was still able to do what I love, and I am really proud of the amount of work we’ve all done. We’ve had meetings over Zoom as a cast, private recording sessions with equipment ourselves and families set up and socially distant recordings with our scene partners.”
